You can enjoy the natural surroundings and scenery while slowly relaxing in the hot springs. The spring water is a sodium-chloride-carbonate hydrogen spring, which is said to be effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, coldness, and chronic skin diseases.

The winter snowfall in Hamatonbetsu town can reach up to 2-3 meters on average. During this time, the surrounding mountains are also covered in snow, offering a beautiful winter scenery to enjoy. The Hisashi Ski Resort, located about 17 km from the town center, offers good quality powder snow and is a great place for skiing and snowboarding for beginners to advanced riders.
