Tagata no Sankyo is located within the Kyoto Tanba Kogen Quasi-National Park. Ashiyu Forest, the source of the Yura River, is endowed with pristine nature and is also a habitat for rare plants and animals. In addition, the village, where many distinctive thatched-roof houses remain, gives a sense of the history of a life close to nature and a long history of traditional culture. The site is a 10-minute drive from Ashiyu Forest and Kitamura Village, the tourist center of the Miyama area, which boasts the highest rate of remaining thatched roofs in Japan, and is also a 10-minute drive from Kitamura Village, a Miyama Thatched Roof Village (Important Traditional Buildings Preservation District). The site also borders the Yura River (Miyama River), allowing visitors to enjoy playing in the river.
